‘NO! as a matter a fact I have finished all three’, Amber replied proudly.
‘Clever girl’, Penny complimented Amber.
‘I will show you one of my painting and maybe you can hang it in the bar, I know you will love it’, I said confidently.
Jenny and Rex seem to have gotten over their little spat they had the other week. We all had a very pleasant night working behind the bar. I decided to be mischievous and ask how they were cooping working and socializing together.
‘You both seem very happy and comfortable’, I looked to Rex for the answer, But Jenny stepped in, ‘we have decided to put our relationship on hold for the present and just be friends as Rex is busy with family affairs, he is trying to locate his father, you know’! she added.
Jenny took a moment to let the information sink in, before turning to Rex for support. ‘Is that right Rex, I asked’? The shrill of the phone saved Rex from answering. ‘Hello! Penny Hill bar’, Rex here.
‘Oh, hello Paul Hill here, may I speak to Penny’?
‘Paul darling where are you‘, Penny could hardly contain herself.
‘I’m about to board a train home met me at the station in an hour , oh by the way I hope it’s alright to bring my friend home to stay. . . is that Ok’? Paul said excitably. ‘Wonderful! see you in an hour’, Penny said only too delighted for her son to be home safe and sound. ‘I should have asked if it’s male or female’? Penny though as she went to prepare Paul’s room. ‘Rex, I need your help as I’ll have to move you into a single room and take this room for Paul’s friend’, Penny called as she climbed the stairs to the attic.
‘Amber! I just want to fill you in my relationship with Jenny is over but Jenny will not take no for an answer’, Rex told me quietly as Jenny served a customer.
