I wasn’t sure I wanted my space invaded so soon I was looking forward to pottering around the cottage and enjoying my own company after spending the last week with Penny and Rex and catching up with Sherry. I wanted to asses this relationship, be alone with my thoughts and figure out what I really wanted out of it.
‘A penny for them??’ he said annoyed, ‘You haven’t heard a word I’ve being saying have you?’
‘Sorry I’ve so much on my mind at the minute but if you have tomorrow evening free come for dinner’, this seemed to placate him. ‘Now I really must go’, reaching up to kiss him full on the lips, ‘see you tomorrow about 8’.
Waving to Penny as I left promising to drop in on Monday after my first class to let her know how it went.
On the drive home I thought back on our trip and on how uncomfortable I felt back in Ireland and how good it was having Penny as a companion, she was so much fun – care free and loving. I wondered if that would change now that we were home. Well judging by today she was very down, and I know that she was worried about Paul and Seki I would have to make sure she knew I was there for her.
After sorting out my itinerary for the following two classes and sourcing some supplies I started to prepare dinner. It would be the first time I cooked for Rex, somehow this made me nervous, I had decided on steak, at least I knew he liked steak so had stopped into the butchers on the way home to get some prime cuts. Preparing the potatoes and vegetables wouldn’t take long a great advantage to living in the countryside was my own fresh vegetables.
