V A – Sunday Mornings 005 [Kanja Records] [House]
This is a great idea from Kanja Records, a series of multi artist Eps focusing on the more downbeat and chilled out sounds of the featured artists. Focusing on the warm up and the afterparty, and first up “Varuth” by Olvap kicks things off with wobbly bass and smooth synths. Glitchy percussion and an acid lead line keep things going nicely. Next up “Holnap” by Ztrl has a great chilled feel to it, with simplistic yet effective drums. “Hoodwink” by Jhobei cranks things up a bit with heavier drums and a bit of funk to things, pick of the bunch of the tracks for me. Finally De La Munte rounds things up with “Disparere” with dark yet uplifting synths and pads taking you on a journey. Great release all round.

East end dubs – Endz016 [Eastenderz] [House & Techno]
A nice 2 tracker from East End Dubs. Both tracks are similar in vibe, with smooth synths and dep sub bass. First up “Space Cadet” is a straight up deep house number, with cascading top synths and twinkling percussion. “Halfjack” is the more upbeat in terms of energy in the track, but the bassline is a moody affair. Drums are punchy and solid. 2 great tracks for the early or late set, but could fit in in most dj's sets in the right hands.

Triptil – Esimene EP [Feno Volana] [House & Techno]
Based out of Bucharest, Feno Volana have brought in Triptil for their debut release. A great 3 tracker of deep techno and house. Title track Esimene is all about the shuffling drums and floor shaking sub, but with delicate percussion and soothing pads overlaying the top. Next “OldieGoldie” takes things on a more house like direction with a stabbing lead riff and tight drums, whilst again the delicate synth work and patterns give the track depth, whilst the main groove is killer. Finally “To the moon and back” is a simple deep house track with a chunky bassline and solid drums.

Oprea Timpu – Smooth Calling EP [Minimmal Movement] [House]
Hailing from Romania, I cant find much info on Oprea Timpu, but I will definitely being delving deeper after hearing this. A great EP, first up “Smooth” is exactly what it says on the tin. A really funky lead line of scatty percussion and tight drums are laid down before smooth and luscious synths are brought in. “Calling” is the more chilled of the 2 original tracks, with twinkling pads and rolling drums are combined with a great sub bass.
Finally Dutch deep house maestro Roger Gerressen gives us his remix of “Smooth” and takes it on a more club focused direction. Interesting EP and looking forward to hearing more.

Bress underground – Time EP [Something Else] [House]
Bress underground comes out with an amazing 4 tracker on Something Else.Time is a percussive deep house track with some serious 90s vibes to it. Repetitive leads and solid drums are placed perfectly together to get things going well. “Two moons” is a great mixture of filtered french house sounds and chicago deep. “Omg” is a fun house track with a great vocal sample and stabbing pianos all over the place. The dub version is great too!
