Mark Broom - King [EPM Music]
There's something really appealing about a Mark Broom production. Especially his subtle reworks that just manage to take a decent enough track and make it a thousand times better (no doubt only by adding a simple element or two that the original productions lacked). He also shows his sheer diversity in crafting the funkiest beats right through to distorted harder numbers. Here on his second EP recently for EPM of his trilogy, we are treated to the disco and house side. Funky disco loops, choppy but awesome quirky percussion and infectious basslines make all three original cuts worth a spin or two. However Scotland's Gary Beck steals the show with a thunderous rework that works for the darker floors.

Ghost In The Machine - One Louder [Perc Trax]
Yeah I know I am a little bit late with this one but it has been one of the biggest records of the summer for me (just like the wicked 'Look What Your Love Has Done To Me' from Perc from the previous release). Holland's Ghost In The Machine deliver their debut for Perc Trax with three distorted, energetic techno numbers that are rife for scaring the living daylights out of you. Standout track for me here is the, let's face it, fucking awesome 'PSKDT (What Does It Mean?)' which has one hell of a kick drum, twisted FX that sound like a rather haunted train station and fierce percussion that shows you there is no messing about in the slightest. It's no wonder everyone is loving this. Top stuff.

Christian Kliche - Drive [Geushky]
It was an awesome Friday to wake up and hear label boss Ian Void tell me that Portsmouth's wonderful Geushky label were going to return after a fourteen year hiatus. What a monster of a relaunch too from Germany's Christian Kliche. Support on this has been extensive worldwide and rightly so. The title track 'Drive' is a menacing little number, but it's the second original 'Second Gear' that really does the damage. Featuring a really driving kick and a dark haunting analogue synth arpeggio that is driven to perfection, you can't help but love it and instantly want to play it! Remixes from Ayako Mori and Pushmann complement the originals nicely too! Look out for more absolute gems from Geushky over the coming months!

Der Dritte Raum - Polarized Echoes [Harthouse]
This was a welcome surprise in my inbox from two absolute greats. Having wore out my copy of 'Hale Bopp' by Der Dritte Raum so much that I needed another, and having more Harthouse tunes than I care to remember (talking hundreds!) it's nice to see them collaborate again. As expected this is quality of the highest order. Title track 'Polarized Echoes' chugs along nicely fusing progressive, trance and techno, and 'Realtime Club' also caters for the progressive crowd. However it's 'Effect Memory' that really steals the show for me. A catchy melody that builds amongst a wonderful techno groove and has such crossover appeal I wouldn't be surprised if it is cained by many leading names over the remainder of the year!

Lars Huismann - Juggernaut [Animal Farm]
Animal Farm are furthering their reputation for providing quality, sinister brooding techno with this four tracker from Berlin's Lars Huismann. 'Nothing To Lose' plays heavy on the percussion with haunting FX and quirky synths that are honed to perfection, while Progression is on remix duties and manages to take things on a much darker twist. Rounding off the EP are a further two originals with 'Parallx' being perfect for the 4 am crowd when you want to take things on a much more headfuck direction in your sets and 'Mind Vortex' which is a sonic onslaught of chaos, but works out spectacularly. Definitely something out of the ordinary to really build your sets with.
