"Rise" got into the UK top 20 national chart, tell us about how you felt about this?
That was a tough one because HOUSE MUSIC was so huge in the "Underground". I was happy that it did very well and had a video. That was very cool at the time.
"Rise" gave you that step up and times really changed for you after that single, can you tell us what that was like?
Oh yes, now I was a confirmed Internatioanl DJ flying form LA on thursday every weekend to get to Europe and gig in one city on friday then another on Saturday then chase the sun home back to LA to get home on Sunday.
You have a couple of studios in USA, and Europe, tell us about what hardware and software you prefer, and a little about the studios.
Because of the amount of time flying from LA, I eventually moved to Amsterdam and set up a beautiful studio by Vondel Park. Although I am not there now, It ran primarily CUBASE. I began On Cubase because many of my collegues in Europe at the time only had PC. So EU was PC. However my studio in Hollywood ran LOGIC. NOw I am Totally ABLETON. Crazy thing is that I had ableton my
laptop for about 3 years but could never intuitively figure the thing out - it seemed nothing like the other DAWS. However I kept hearing these unique sounds that I knew must be ableton so I got off my arss and learned everything about it!
By 2007 you where remixing some of the biggest artists on the planet. What was that like for you?
That was very cool. Madonna, Seal, Buble, The Veronicas, Alannis Morrisette, and my latest was Pet Shop Boys. I am truly honored humbled and blessed to have been asked by them to "touch" their work. Also up until 2014 there were nice remix fees!
What artists and labels do you love working for and had the best experiences with?
LABELS: Suara, Defected, Carrillo Producers: Jose Nunez, Harry Choo Choo, Todor Ivonov, The NightOwlz, DEZ, Lisa WIlliams and my good friend Dany Cohiba.
You now run 3 labels, tell us about how you do that, the styles you release and whats the hardest thing about running and owning a label now?
LOL I just left those labels - we seemed to be under staffed and with different directions. I am looking to start a new label of my own soon.
" Not everyone understands House music, it's a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing "
You play all over the globe, whats your favourite city and club?
Pacha, M.O.S., Space, NYC, UK, San Fran, Chicago, Mykonos and Ibiza.
What do you think of the digital DJ, good, bad, or a happy medium of both?
All things change - I saw this coming back when CD's started being played. I am cool with it. I have over 10,000 vinyl records in storage. That is cool to know. BUt People keep growing and so should the music. Vinyl records take too much time and are too expensive to make these days when we all create using computers and have the final product mastered and distributed to others the same hour when finished.
Tell us about the worst trip you have been on to or from a gig?
I do not recall a worst trip or gig actually, unless I have blocked it out of my mind because it was that bad!
What does Eddie like to do thats not musically oriented?
I like to study science and have interest in "spiritual" things, particle physics, UFO's, Jesus Christ and the planet nibiru.
I believe we are all spiritual beings in physical bodies with our soul being our "mind & personality".
