Tell us where in the world you are
and what your plans for the week
and month ahead?
Currently live in the North East of England, plans for the next month ahead, working on Release schedules and Artists for the Labels, making Music & Probably Painting the walls while on Lockdown!!
Tell us more about you.
Family Man First, with a HUGE Passion for the Electronic Music Scene, I am the owner of the INU Music Group, which has 4 Labels under it’s Umbrella now, INU, IN2U Records, Galvanised & I Co-Own INU Musika with my Mexican Brother from another Mother - Andy Woldman. I am a Producer & Remixer and host IN2U Mix Show weekly on TM Radio.
How was 2019?
Crazy I think probably hits the nail on the head, I Launched IN2U back in February of 2019, initially just so I had an outlet of my own work. A very good friend and I class as a mentor (Although we are more like Bro’s), Craig Twist of Enertia-Sound said one day, "I will do a track for your Label”, we put out Deliverance EP with remixes from Findike & OrgaNik and since then it has snowballed into what we have today. I have a great Team around me with Rob Walburg & Dylan Deck who have been instrumental
in the Label’s development. I feel very honoured and lucky to of worked with so many great Artists and up and coming Talent during 2019. Personally I worked a lot on my Productions, learning new skills, listening and playing a lot of great Music.
How is 2020 so far?
Yeh going great! By the end of 2019, we almost had a full release schedule for 2020, it was pretty packed, so I decided to Launch INU and form the INU Music Group so we had some further capacity for Artists work and to release in a reasonable timeframe. It got to the point where any tracks I completed, I wouldn’t be able to release on my own Label for a long time, so decided to Launch Galvanised Label, just for my own projects. I have started working with Andy Woldman on some Co-Lab Projects which are coming along great, we decided to Launch INU Musika as a brand/label and we will continue to develop this concept in the coming weeks ahead, I am very excited about he Music we are creating.
Your best year so far?
Yeh, has been a great Year, IN2U just turned 1 Year Old and what a ride it has been, 2020 is shaping up to be a great year for the Labels, we have an amazing Roster of Talent now and I have been getting stuck in to allot of Projects at the end of last year and start of 2020 with some Labels that I have aspired to be on for a long time.
Thelast decade from your perspective as a DJ & producer?
Until the last couple of years I have been watching the scene from a far, from the DJ side of things, it seems to be branching off into 2 different Area’s, Staged Production (Anjuna, Prydz, Deadmau5 etc) & the Club DJ. From a Producer side, it has to be the HUGE Jump Technology has played, that has meant it is more accessible, this has two sides, it has unearthed talent that wouldn’t have been able to access a full blown Studio and at least given people the tools to try, the other side is that there is a saturated market now.
Describe your sound.
I will be honest, I don’t really know??, I try not to place my music in a box. When I am creating Music, it all depends on what I am looking to achieve. Sometimes I want to create a Music with a Groove to get you moving, other times it is to express a feeling, emotion or to send you to a specific place. I don’t usually set out with one thing in mind, it usually transpired naturally.
What music did you like growing up?
This is gonna be embarrassing, I used to listen to allot of Nivarna, Guns & Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, my Father used to play Queen around the house all the time!
First dance track you liked?
Yep - Like yesterday - Jaydee Plastic Dreams - Listen back now and you can hear how many times that was sampled in other tracks!!
Your first clubbing experience?
It was my friends 18th Birthday, we heard of a club in Middlesbrough call the Empire, where they put on a night called the Sugar Shack, heard people were going there and having a good time, so we thought we would check it out - Jeremy Healy was the resident DJ at that time, Atmosphere was Electric, everyone was there just to enjoy the Music & Come together, everyone had a great time. We immediately looked to go again and the next event was the Sugar Shacks 5th Birthday with Jeremy Healy, Alister Whitehead & Judge Jules (if memory serves me correctly ha ha) - After that night I was hooked, every Friday was Clubbing Night and lived for the Weekend!
Tell us about the labels you've released tracks on.
Yeh, I will of course continue to be involved in projects for INU & IN2U. For my Solo work, I really want to concentrate on developing my side project with my Galvanised Label, 2020 has been great start for the year with projects released on AH Digital, OLD SQL Recordings, 3xA and am really excited about some up and coming projects over the coming few months on BC2, BQ Recordings. Emotional Content, Droid9 & Mirabilis. I have recently been working with my Mexican Brother from another mother Andy Woldman on a few things, but can’t disclose on these at the moment..... You will have to wait and see!!
