             Teachers also give students practice exercise  to


             help ensure the transfer of information from short-


             term memory to long-term memory.





             The use of Gagne’s “Bottom-up approach” –


             students learn lower skills first.




             Ausubel’s “Top-down” approach – teachers provide


             advance organizer or overviews of the way


             information will be presented to help students



             develop mental frameworks on which to “hang”


             new information.
