Judgment Enforcement – The Step-by-Step Course

Again, your professionalism will work for you in a way you won’t
suspect. You’ll get JD’s who offer you judgments or refer others to
you. Why would they? Because they respect you.

You already know my view, that debtors are not all equal. Many are
jerks and liars and creeps, and really deserve to pay. But some are good
and decent people who have fallen on bad times for one reason or another. We all owe
money, so in a sense we are all debtors.

My rule for myself is that I don’t make a living off poor people or people down on their
luck. I know what it’s like to be struggling and owing money. If a struggling person owes,
and is making some money, I may try to work out reasonable arrangements, or delay
enforcement until a later time. Or not take the judgment. It’s both ethical and practical,
because if you push someone hard enough and that person really has nothing, you will get
nothing, and you might even force the person into bankruptcy.

I want to stay in business. I want to earn a good income and live comfortably. I know

how to do it without damaging a good person’s life. Of course, if the debtor has hurt other
people’s lives through their own deceit, lies, or fraud, then I go after them very hard. I
hope you will too.
