Judgment Enforcement – The Step-by-Step Course

Using my database, I knew all of this in about 2 minutes max. Without the database, I
could have thought there was some way to enforce the judgment. I saved time, effort,
                    frustration, and money.

This was during the recession, and maybe he had fallen on bad times, or maybe was a
scammer of some sort. Regardless, there’s nothing there for me to do. Zero. Or, probably
zero. So, I commiserated with the JC and told him I didn’t see a way to enforce it, and I
was going to pass. This JD was not a ‘better debtor.’

What to look for when investigating a JD.

Pilots have a check list of things to look for before they take off. I do too, things that

are pluses and minuses about the debtor and the creditor. After a while this will be
automatic for you. But I’ll make a list here to help you get started. There’s more on the
Forum. Remember, there are no perfect judgments. Every one of them has minuses. But
knowing them will help you decide whether to take the case. You want the “better debtor.”

                    What is a better debtor?

*A better debtor is someone who has the assets,
or the strong likelihood of assets,
now or in the near future, yet who still refuses to pay the judgment.
