Judgment Enforcement – The Step-by-Step Course
A bit confused?
There’s a lot of information here. You won’t take it all in at once.
But good news: At the end of this chapter I’ll recommend a pretty
simple way to get up and running and test a good database for 30
days – free.
Locating Civil Judgments on Lexis
Lexis is well known for being a terrific public records site. You may be able to
subscribe through an attorney or an organization such as the CAJP.org. That’s the
California Association of Judgment Professionals. (Don’t join it just for Lexis!)
It’s a FLATRATE, so you pay for the year or 6 months, depending on the program.
NOT CHEAP. But worth it. Huge time and energy and money saver. Might end up being
$240 a month or so. Still cheap compared to other businesses.
✓ On Lexis you can search by:
Name,
✓ Address, or Zip Code
✓ or by Court house, or by State,
✓ Or even by $ amount.
That means you can search for cases in Philadelphia by the $ amount, maybe looking
for cases between $5K-$15Ks.
You do it much the same way as Tracers and TLO. Only the search is more refined on
Lexis. And, again, it’s usually a flat rate on Lexis. (See me or the Forum)
You can search 1000 times a day at a monthly fee.
