PROTEC HELPS TOMORROWLAND TO UNITE AROUND THE WORLD
When the Unite With Tomorrowland electronic music festival franchise arrived in Dubai Festival City Arena, a live satellite link was set up between Dubai, the original venue at Boom in Belgium, and seven other Unite events scheduled to take place simultaneously in Germany, Israel, Lebanon, Malta, South Korea, Spain and Taiwan.
Designed in the authentic Tomorrowland style, all stage sets were to be virtually identical in presentation. Protec was able to provide a full cutting- edge inventory of audio, video, lighting, set and rigging (as well as radios, satellite comms link up and cameras) for the first ever event of its kind in Dubai. This was no easy task as the challenges of working in a semi-permanent tented structure meant that great care needed to be taken with regard to weight loading and distribution in the roof.
Speaking of fulfilling one of the most unusual challenges they have ever faced, the Protec project manager, paid credit to his excellent crew.
