BLACK-SPOTTED NUDIBRANCH (Ceratophyllidia papilligera) < 10 cm / 4 in Solid white body with pointed gray tubercules, each circled in black. Black-tipped rhinophores.
Dorid nudibranchs have a large gill structure on their backs, near the posterior end, used to extract oxygen directly from seawater. Not always visible, it can be uickly retracted if the animal senses danger. The word nudibranch comes from Latin and reek, meaning naked gills.
