HISTORY OF THE C.A.R.S.® NATIONAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
In September, 1999, the Certified Asset Recovery Specialist® (C.A.R.S.®) National Certification Program was introduced to Empire Fire & Marine Insurance Company, numerous leaders in the collateral recovery industry and to attorney, Bogdan Rentea, one of the foremost legal authorities on the self-help repossession process. Letters of endorsement
from those industry leaders who reviewed the C.A.R.S.® Program, in addition to Mr. Rentea, can viewed at www.RiscUS.com and clicking ‘testimonials’ at the bottom of the page.
The C.A.R.S.® Program was designed to cover all legal aspects, including state and federal law that impact the self-help repossession process as well as other applicable subjects as listed in the Table of Contents. The Program is accepted in all 50 states as the premier certification program for those who service self-help repossession assignments. There are
currently more than 7,000 graduates of the C.A.R.S.® Program.
In addition to the C.A.R.S.® Certification Program, RISC has developed eleven Continuing Education courses to enhance the professional credentials of those certified through the C.A.R.S.® Program.
The C.A.R.S.® Program n o w i n c l u d e s specific, predominant case law for each state. This gives students important information on how courts in their respective state of operation have ruled on alleged Wrongful Repossession and Breach of the Peace violations involving the self-help repossession process.
RISC Educational Systems, which administrates the C.A.R.S. ® Programs, is the only state (Florida) licensed educational facility that develops educational programs exclusively for the collateral recovery industry.
