Heat of Fusion (Hf)
HEAT OF FUSION (Hf): Amount of heat needed to melt or freeze one gram of a substance.
Reffy: Table B (p. 1)
This means, that one gram of water will either:
1. Absorb 334 joules in order to melt (It needs to take in heat in order to make it evaporate).
2. Release 334 joules in order to freeze (It needs to give away heat in order to make it condense).
Heat of Fusion – fuse.
We need a working fuse to use the microwave and freezer to melt and freeze food.
Heat of fusion applies to melting and freezing substances.
