   Solving Equations (Part 2)
1. Separate the letter from the numbers by performing the opposite operation on the other side of the equation:
a. If the letter is attached to the number by addition, subtract the number from the other side
of the equation and get rid of the number on the side with the letter.
b. If the letter is attached to the number by subtraction, add the number to the other side of
the equation and get rid of the number on the side with the letter.
c. If the letter is attached to the number by multiplication, divide the other side of the
equation by that number and get rid of the number on the side with the letter.
d. If the letter is attached to the number by division, multiply the other side by that number
  and get rid of the number on the side with the letter.
In the example above, we need to isolate the X. The 2 is attached to the X by multiplication. Therefore, we need to divide the other side by 2. We divide 2X by 2 on the right side to get rid of the 2, then divide the other side by 2 to solve.
100 = 2X 2 2 50 = X or X=50
