The Number of Atoms in a Molecule
To find the number of atoms in a molecule:
1. Multiply the coefficient by the subscript of each atom. (If there is
no subscript, multiply by 1.)
2Ca(SO4) Ca: 2
S: 2
O: 8 (2 x 4)
2. Add all the values together. 2Ca(SO4)
2+2+8=12 atoms in the molecule
