How to Write a Chemical Formula
Overview:
We will now learn how to write formulas for 2 types of compounds:
1. BINARY COMPOUND: A compound that contains two atoms 2. Compound containing a POLYATOMIC ION
For compounds containing a polyatomic ion, we will follow the same steps as for binary compounds, and just put parentheses around the polyatomic ion.
Then, we will learn how to write a chemical formula that includes elements with multiple oxidation states.
