Mole-Mole Example
Given the equation: Ca + 2H2O CaOH +H2.
How many moles of Ca are needed to react with 6 moles of H2O?
Answer:
1. Cross out any molecule not applicable to
the question. Since the question only asks about Ca and H2O, we cross out the other molecules.
2. Set up a proportion:
Mole over coefficient = Mole over coefficient.
3. Solve with cross multiplication.
