Soluble vs. Insoluble
• SOLUBLE: Able to be dissolved. If an ion is soluble, a lot of it will dissolve in the solution.
Soluble ions form solutions that are:
Most concentrated Most saturated Least dilute
ELECTROLYTE: An ion that’s soluble and conducts electricity (when there’s
movement and a charge).
• INSOLUBLE: Unable to be dissolved. If an ion is insoluble, none or little of it
will be dissolved in the solution.
Insoluble ions form solutions that are:
Least concentrated Least saturated Most dilute • PRECIPITATE: An ion that doesn’t dissolve, but crystallizes
