   Endothermic Reaction Diagram
In an endothermic reaction, the reactant absorbs energy. Therefore, you will notice that the reactant has a lower potential energy than the products. This diagram shows us many factors:
1. The potential energy of the reactants and the products: This is shown on the table as a bold line.
2. The activation energy (the minimum amount
of energy needed to start a reaction): Any number above the potential energy of the reactant is the activation energy.
3. The activation complex: the highest point on the graph
4. ∆H: Heat of product minus heat of reactant
There are many Regents questions on this diagram. Know it well.
