A Note from the Artistic Director
Greetings, Everyone!
Welcome to May! We are so busy here this spring, and we’re glad to have you with us.
As our web series Together Apart continues to be released and our mainstage
production Everything is Super Great finishes its run, we are thrilled to bring you our
annual “Meet the Artist” new play reading series.
We received over 400 submissions of original scripts this year, and of these worthy
candidates, these four stood out. Our friend James McLindon, who wrote the wonderful
Dead and Buried that we produced a few seasons back, is represented here with Hitch.
And Joe Sutton, a New Jersey playwright, contributes his timely drama Twirl.
Emerging New York playwright Aly Kantor joins us for Occupied, and Philadelphia/UK
artist Emma Gibson has shared Water in My Hands. We are lucky to be collaborating
with these talented and generous artists.
We look forward to this summer, where we will present several outdoor performances
at the Visual Arts Center of NJ and the Reeves Reed Arboretum, so stay tuned! And
also, a gradual return to indoor performances is on the horizon for the fall.
