THE UNIVERSE IS ALWAYS GIVING
One day when I was a teenager and the senior prom was looming on the horizon, a friend and I were in a department store when she decided that we should try on prom dresses-and not just any prom dresses: She wanted to check out the dresses on the designer floor of the store.
My boyfriend had broken up with me earlier in the year, I hadn't been asked to the prom, and I knew that I didn't have the money for a fancy dress. I felt guilty and sad as I followed her to the designer floor, where she pulled several beautiful long gowns off the rack and headed for the dressing room.
"Do you really have enough money to pay for any of these dresses?" I asked my friend.
"Of course not!" she said. "I just want to see how I look in them. There's no harm in that."
"But ... if you can't afford it, and no one's asked you to the dance-"
She waved her hand at me. "So what? Maybe someone will."
I never did go to prom, although my friend didin a very pretty dress from one of the lower floors of that department store. At the time, I didn't understand that by allowing herself to feel entitled to a designer dress and a wonderful boy to take her to the dance, my friend was working with the Universe to co-create what she wanted for herself. The Universe responded because it wants us to have all we desire, it has an unlimited supply of abundance, and it's always giving. We just have to be willing to accept its gifts. We're open to receiving when we're experiencing the positive feelings of abundance and worthiness.
As I got older and began to travel, I started to realize that there's an enormous amount of wealth in the world. For the first time, I was exposed to beautiful, luxurious buildings and homes and expensive sports cars. I began to
