The Bible says: "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." It sounds simple, doesn't it? But many of us hold hidden negative beliefs that prevent us from knocking on the door and asking the Universe for the wealth we desire.
HIDDEN NEGATIVE BELIEF #1: "The Wealthy Aren't Good People"
When I was growing up, there were some children in our neighborhood who were often picked on, called names, and accused of being spoiled simply because their parents had money. It made me think that it must be awful to be rich. The children who teased these other kids didn't know any better because their parents had taught them to distrust wealthy people and be suspicious of them.
Not long ago, a friend of a friend was walking with me, and we passed a Lamborghini parked on the street. "I wonder what kind of crook that guy's got to be to own that car," he commented. Unfortunately, many people believe, as this man did, that if others have wealth, they must have come by it dishonestly.
Now, I've had the pleasure of working with many well-to-do people, and I have to say that often they're extremely generous, giving, and kind-yet this belief that the wealthy aren't good people persists. I think that it's because people are often secretly jealous of those who have wealth.
