Medication?
First of all, don’t panic. There is help. The most common treatment for depression symptoms is an antidepressant. According to the Mayo Clinic there are many types of antidepressant medications including:
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)
Atypical antidepressants
Tricyclic antidepressants
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs
Other medications. Your doctor
may recommend combining two antidepressants, or other medications may be added to an antidepressant to enhance antidepressant effects. (7)
Your healthcare provider will help you determine which option works best for you. It may require trying a few kinds before you are able to find the right fit for your body.
