My Life as an Artist
I am a poor artist living in a raggedy house
I have a old housekeeper she owes me as her
master
She cleans my house while I make paintings
Oh how I wish my paintings could sell faster!
I might have forgot to mention
No one buys my artistic and beautiful paintings
I don’t even have enough money to eat a meal
a day
Thinking of rice cakes and dumplings Oh! how
it stings
Hope During Lockdown
One day when I had a little money I told the
housekeeper to bring food
Instead she brought home a cat Ever since December 2019
I was raging with hunger I didn’t know what I There has been a disease called Covid-19
said We have been staying at home
I was yelling on top of my lungs. 0h! How I was Just like bees inside a honeycomb.
mad
Stay away from it
The housekeeper started crying from my words It’s for our own good
I also forgot to tell you that I had sympathy And as the cases begin to rise
So I accepted the cat but was curious to see it We start losing our pride.
And to my surprise it was a three-coloured cat!
But the earth is healing
Three coloured cats were said to be lucky And I have a good feeling.
I was very excited that I forgot I was hungry The air is clean;
I was very happy and I spoke politely And the rivers are gleaming
The cat came near my foot as if she bowed!
Corona strikes back wave after wave,
Then I started thinking for a name But the doctors and nurses that help us are very
Anything special would be good brave
The housekeeper thought of ‘Good Fortune’ Scientists are working on a cure
She seemed like one so I understood So it will be over soon, rest assured.

We can’t give up in this time of need
If we give up we won’t be freed
Let’s turn our frowns upside down
We should have hope during lockdown!
