4. ResultsandDiscusion
Figure6showsthesurfacetemperaturehistoryof 1-propano1asmeasuredwithbothafinethermocou- p1eandtheIRcamerawith0.95emisivity. Thereis goodagreementbetweenmeasurementswhenthe
liquidtemperatureisbetween20and40oC,however theIRtemperaturedecreaseswhentheliquidtem- peratureincreasesbeyond40oC. Thetemperature diferencethatisduetoabsorptionbypropanolvapor eventualyreachesitsmaximumof10%whenthe liquidtemperatureis80oC.
Figure7showsthesurfacetemperatureprofi1esof thecoperb10ckmeasuredbytheIRcamera. Inthis experiment,thetemperatureofthe1iquidfue1and theairwaskeptat30oCandthesurfacetemperature ofthecopercy1inderblockwaskeptat80oC. Fig- ure7includestwotemperatureprofi1es: surface
