ADMINISTRATIVE ADJUDICATION
To better serve the community and lessen the burden on our court system; the Village of Buffalo Grove amend- ed the Municipal Code to bypass the court process for certain types of ordinance violations. The Administrative Adjudication process allows a person who was cited, an opportunity to appear in front of a Village appointed hearing officer to discuss their violation. Administrative hearings are civil proceedings where persons are fined or ordered to comply with Village Ordinances. In lieu of an administrative adjudication appearance, ordinance violations can be satisfied by demonstrating compliance and paying the required fine listed on the citation. Violations directed through the administrative process include non-moving traffic, parking, animal, and ordinance (compliance) violations.
