3. Arrange the [4] small star points units, [4] – 4-1/20 background squares, and your center square as shown. Sew the units together in rows and press towards the squares. Nest the seams and sew the rows together. Press to complete the star unit. Sew the 8-1/20 3 16-1/20 background rectangle to the top of the star unit. Press towards the rectangle.
4. Sew the 8-1/20 background square to the bottom of the large star points unit as shown. Press towards the square.
2. Repeat with pairs of 8-1/20 Black/background HSTs to make [2] large star points units. Set aside.
3. Arrange the [4] inner star points units, [4] – 4-1/20 Vintage Postmark Toss squares, and your center square. Sew the units in rows and press towards the squares. Nest the seams and sew the rows together. Press. Sew the large star point unit to the bottom of the star unit just made. Press. Set aside for
the moment.
4. Sew the 8-1/20 background square to the bottom of an 8-1/20 Black/background half-square triangle as shown. Press. Sew the 8-1/20 3 x 16-1/20 background rectangle to the right side. Press to complete the left side.
5. Sew a large star leg unit to the top of the unit just made. Press to complete the right side. Sew the sides together. Press to complete Unit 3 - Section 2.

5. Sew the 2 units side-by-side as shown. Press to complete Unit 3 - Section 1.

Use [5] – 8-1/20 Black/background HSTs, [1] – 8-1/20
background square, [1] – 8-1/20 3 16-1/20 background rectangle, [8] – 4-1/20 Vintage Postmark Toss/black HSTs, [4] – 4-1/20 Vintage Postmark Toss squares, and [1] – 8-1/20 center square.
1. Sew [2] Vintage Postmark Toss/black HSTs together to create an inner star points unit. Press. Make [4].
