Module 4: Writing with Fluency and Control Teacher’s Guide.
Objective: Correct joining of an up and over Georgia the Shetland Pony letter to a Zac the Grey Sheep letter
Lorem ip
Lesson plan:
In small groups, seated at a table each child has a Write and Wipe Board and a suit- able pen. The teacher has the illustrated Georgia the Shetland Pony letter cards and the Zac the Grey Sheep letter cards.
1. Keeping the two card sets separate, layout Georgia the Shetland Pony and Rupert the White Sheep letters cards face down. Ask two children to pick a card so they have two letters to join, e.g. o to w.
If the children have already completed the joining Harriet the Cow to a Zac the Grey Sheep letter’ lesson on page 8 then they will know w,v and o are dip joined letters. If they have not covered this lesson plan please follow items 2-3 on page 8 to introduce this concept.
2. Demonstrate on your Write and Wipe Board how to join o, c and r. Remind the children not to lift their pens when writing.
3. Ask two new children to pick a card and repeat the process above until all the letters have been attempted.
