Lesson plan:
In small groups, seated at a table each child has a Write and Wipe Board and a suitable pen. The teacher has the illustrated Rupert the White Sheep cards.

If the children have already completed joining the Harriet the Cow to a Rupert the White Sheep letter’ lesson on page 6 then they will know r is a dip joined letter. If they have not covered this lesson plan please follow items 2-3 on page 6 to introduce this concept.
2. Demonstrate on your Write and Wipe Board how to join i to r. Remind the children not to lift their pens when writing.
3. Ask two new children to pick a card and repeat the process above until all the letters
