Module 4: Writing with Fluency and Control Teacher’s Guide.
Objective: Correct joining of a short, Rupert the White Sheep letter to a Harriet the Cow letter
  Lesson plan
In small groups, seated at a table each child has a Write and Wipe Board and a suit- able pen. The teacher has the illustrated Rupert the White Sheep letter cards and the Harriet the Cow letter cards.
1. Keeping the two card sets separate, lay Harriet the Cow and Rupert the White Sheep letter cards face down. Ask two children to pick a card each so they have two letters to join, e.g. p to h. If the children have already completed the joining Rupert the White Sheep to a Harriet the Cow letter’ lesson on page 6 then they will know r is a dip joined letter. If they have not covered this lesson plan please follow items 2-3 on page 6 to introduce this concept.
2. Demonstrate on your Write and Wipe Board how to join p to h. Remind the children not to lift their pens when writing.
3. Ask two new children to pick a card and repeat the process above until all the letters have been attempted.
