Module 3: Learning to Write Teacher’s Guide.
Objective: To not reverse letters b and d
Lesson Plan:
Provide each child with page above, IWB331, found on the IWB Programme. In small groups or with the whole class on the carpet.
Independent ‘have a go’ work
• Talk to the children about the letters b and d. Explain that it can be tricky to remember which one is which.
• Show the children the image above, either on the interactive whiteboard or on a separate copy.
• Say one is a cow letter and one is a pony letter. Can the children work out which is which from the way they are written?
• Ask the children to go and complete the sheet so they have it as a visual reminder.
More to Learn:
If the children find it di fficult to identify each letter, have them write them on a Write and Wipe Board, or demonstrate the letters on the interactive whiteboard, writing on Illustrated Paper.
Support:
Make sure the information is not visible to the child in the classroom.
