Module 3: Learning to Write Teacher’s Guide.
Objective: To write lower case Rupert the White Sheep Letter n
Lesson Plan:
Help the children to turn to the page with nin their Letter and Sound Workbook. Demonstrate the letter for the children to copy
1. Demonstrate n on the whiteboard on the Illustrated Paper.
2. The children to finger trace over the large lowercase nin their workbooks. 3. Demonstrate the letter again, saying the step-by-step direction, “start on
the grass and reach to the helicopter line, and come back down to the grass line. Reach up to the helicopter line again, and then curve over, stop at the grass line and lead out”.The childrenwatch, then copy n.
4. Help the children to mark their letters for correct start, height and end point.
Independent ‘have a go’ work
• The children to then have a go at tracing the letter before forming some letters independently.
Linking sound, symbol and writing
• Look around the room to find something that begins with the letter n, and draw a picture of it.

Take the letter card, show it to the children and ask one of them to place it

Use hand over hand activities to help those that find the motor pattern more difficult. Have the children come and write on the whiteboard, on a
vertical surface and in a large size.
