Objective: Tracing names
Module 2: Getting Ready for Writing Teacher’s Guide.

Lesson Plan:
Tracing and learning the visual image of their own name.
1. Using the CCW 4 Font Outline design a name plate for each child so they are able to trace inbetween the lines to trace their name.
2. Use different size fonts making the name larger for young children and smaller for older children, to reflect the children’s fine motor development.
3. Laminating the cards makes them reusable.
Things to Consider:
1. Using the outline font enables the children
to ‘see’ their name more easily and gives
them a wider guide to help with accuracy. 2. Placing a green dot to show where to start
will help the children to recognise the lead-in line.
