 Objective: Tracing Zac the Grey Sheep’s sloping lines
Module 2: Getting Ready for Writing Teacher’s Guide.
   Lesson Plan:
Developing early motor control in combination with hand-eye coordination. Linking Zac the Grey Sheep with sloping straight lines.
1. On a table provide the children with a copy of pages 80-81 from the Activities Manual or play the activities on the IWB programme and a selection of pencils.
2. Demonstrate and explain to the children that they are expected to trace over and draw the sloping, short, straight lines to complete the pictures.
3. The children can then complete the worksheet independently.
 Things to Consider:
1. Consider the most appropriate
terminology to use to describe ‘sloping’
lines.

Use hand over hand to help support young children so they can ‘feel’ the movement and understand how to control the movement in their upper limbs.
