or those of you not aware, Art
Lightfoot was an avid hockey player.
He started with the Halifax Junior
Canadians, the Dalhousie Tigers and the
Acadia Axemen. He played with the Kentville
Wildcats in the Valley Senior Hockey League
for 12 years. For more than 25 years Art was
Publicity Director and Statistician for the
Valley High School Hockey League. In addition,
for 30 years Art was Kings County Academy's
chief hockey ambassador, in charge of photographs and game write-
ups for local newspaper coverage.
Art devoted so much of his time and energy to the promotion of
high school hockey that we are delighted to honour his important
contribution by hosting this annual event, in the rink that for years
was Art's second home.
