Spotlight on...
Kara McEachern, Director of Operations
It takes many talented people to run the Plymouth
Philharmonic Orchestra. From the behind-the-
scenes preparations to the captivating performances
and enriching educational outreach programs in South Shore
schools, much thought, care, and strategy goes into making it all
work. Celebrating 108 seasons of success stands as a testament to
the unwavering commitment and expertise of each member of our
Phil family.
Spotlight will offer a glimpse into some dedicated individuals
who make everything run smoothly. While not every member of
our staff can play a musical instrument, each one plays an essential
role in providing you with an exceptional concert experience and
contributing to the vibrant success of the organization.
If you’ve ever attended a Plymouth Phil concert, chances are you’ve
seen Kara McEachern in action. As director of operations, Kara
oversees the day-to-day functions of the Phil’s administrative office,
along with all aspects of our concert productions. From the logistics
of orchestra rehearsals and artist hospitality to usher training,
volunteer coordination, and box office management, Kara ensures
everything runs safely, smoothly, and efficiently!
“I love my job and am grateful to play a vital role at the Phil,” says
McEachern. “The patron’s experience begins well before the concert
hall--ensuring it’s a positive one is the most important part of my
job.”
A graduate of Wagner College with a degree in arts administration,
McEachern joined the Phil in 2017 as office manager and expanded
her skills and responsibilities to include concert operations. In
addition to concert operations, she has a lifelong appreciation for
music and performance.
Outside of her Phil life, she enjoys directing and singing in her
parish community and singing the national anthem for the Boston
Bruins, the Boston Red Sox, and the Brewster Whitecaps!
