Jacob Lewack, pianist
Jacob Lewack is a freshman at Hingham High
School and has been studying piano at South Shore
Conservatory (SSC) under HuiMin Wang since 2022.
He is the overall winner of South Shore Conservatory’s
2024 Youth Concerto Competition and the overall
winner and laureate of the Larry Smith award at the
2023 SSC Piano Solo Competition. He also performed
at the 2023 Duxbury Music Festival, where he accompanied violinist
Amanda Wang in performing Jules Massenet’s “Méditation” (Thaïs), and
played Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in F minor, Op. 2 No. 1. Jacob also
competed in the 2023 MMTA Bay State Piano Competition.
Jacob started playing at the age of seven, taking lessons at the Bosse School
of Music for several years before coming to SSC. In addition to the piano,
Jacob plays viola and is a member of Hingham High School Chamber
Ensemble, where he was invited to play in the 2024 MMEA South Eastern
Junior District Festival.
When not playing music, he is active in the Boy Scouts and various high
school clubs. Jacob looks forward to continuing his music studies at SSC
throughout high school.
