Populations at High Risk for Foodborne Illnesses
These people have a higher risk of getting a
foodborne illness:
Elderly people (Older then Age 65)
Preschool-age children (Younger than Age 5)
People with compromised immune systems (Such
as AIDS, HIV, and Transplant Recipients)
Pregnant women are not classified by the
FDA as a high-risk population until their third
trimester.
