Greeting to the “Princess in the Mirror” Contestants, Parents, and Friends

It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I bring you greetings as Chair of
2018‐ DeSTined for Greatness “The Princess in the Mirror” Jabberwock
Scholarship Gala. It is my honor and pleasure to extend to you a special invite to
an extraordinary evening of pageantry and celebration.

I would like to begin by extending a heartfelt thank you and congratulations to
the “Talented Ten” our wonderful and dynamic contestants ‐who are truly
“Princesses” in the Mirror ‐ I wish you all good luck. You are truly the heartbeat of
this event. Tonight, is your night to shine‐ I wish you all the best in our future
endeavors ‐as you uncover the next chapters in your lives we hope that you will
treasure the memories, friendships and life lessons experience during this

Jabberwock.

I am so grateful for support of the Special Projects committee who encouraged
our Princesses to Think the unthinkable, Believe the unbelievable, and Embrace
the beauty of self in the Mirror. Their attendance and participation in meaningful
workshops, cultural events and service projects proved to be just that!

To my wonderful parents ‐thank you so much for your unwavering support, your

commitment, dedication and sacrifices given during this journey. Without your
support this Jabberwock would not be the success that it is.

Finally, I would like to thank the members of JMAC who gave their time and
resources to an occasion that has been a trademark event for the Jackson (MS)
Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
