Mika dismissed her “I usually
spend my lunchtime in dis class so I
suggest you go ask annoda classmate to
guh help you round”. “Well I was gonna
tell my friend bout the drawing she was
eyeing earlier but you so rude so I’ll leave
yuh to yuh business”Lori turned to walk
out. Mika paused her writing and looked
up in shock then smiled at her”You
talking di donkey wid fire for eyes”. Lori
exclamed “ Oh so now you fussy, you eva
hear of di steel donkey”. Mika replied “ No
I neva hear nothing of a sort”.
Lori joked “ Girl you sure you
bajan”. The girls quickly began acquainted
with each other over their shared love of
folk tales. Mika’s mother used to tell her
stories all the time when she was younger
but as she got older her mother stopped
the storytelling and started pushed her to
do the best in her schoolwork.
