The Lady at the river

One evening Grandma Pat called

her two grandsons to tell them a story, one

by the name of Shane and the other by the

name of Shawn. “Weh dem two green arm

bwoy deh deh” she shouted in the yard.

Shane turned to his brother and said “yo

dawg granny a call we enuh”. Shawn

replied “a coulda wah dah old woman deh

want now”. Shane laughed and said to him

“dawg just come nuh before she draw fi the

broomstick, cah mi nah tek nuh lick fi yuh”.

Shawn then got up from where he

was and both of them went to Grandma

Pat. When she saw them she rolled her

eyes and said “why uno tek suh long fi

come, mek mi tell uno a story”.
