Avengers:Endgame picks up shortly after Avengers: Infinity War. After Captain Marvel rescues Tony Stark and Nebula from deep space, the Avengers assemble and discover Thanos on a quiet planet, where he is living out a life of peace.When the Avengers confront Thanos and attempt to take back the Infinity Stones, the Mad Titan reveals that he destroy the stones for good. Thor, angered by Thanos' actions, then decapitates Thanos.Skip five years ahead, and the Earth isn't prospering like Thanos predicted; it's in shambles. But hope soon arrives when Scott Lang escapes from the quantum realm and explains to the Avengers that time travel is possible.With this newfound knowledge, the come up with a plan to travel back in time to retrieve the Infinity Stones and reverse Thanos' snap. Stark and Bruce Banner, who is know "Smart Hulk," manage to build a time machine, and the Avengers use it to go back to key moments throughout the MCU.
