Date: 9.9.2019 ETIHAD MUSEUM VISIT
Time- 1.30 pm -4.00pm ( AFTERNOON SHIFT)
The Etihad Museum is a rich learning resource. It is situated in a spectacular new
building on an important historical site with interactive exhibits, immensive films, stunning
architecture and important objects that reveal the story of unification and its relevance to
today’s generation.
The day started with the Supervisor’s instructions and we left the school at 1.40 pm.
Students boarded the bus and we reached the Etihad museum by 2.00 pm. We were asked to
sit in a big corridor and then they segregated us into two different groups. Before we started
the tour, Ms Wason, our guide, gave an introduction on the Etihad Museum. Then one group
was guided by Ms.Wason and another group was guided by Ms. Cathrena.
We started the tour with the Union House which was constructed on the site where
the first union agreement was signed in 1971. The large flag pole outside, which was 123m
high, was constructed in 2001 to mark the 30 anniversary of unification, when the union flag

was introduced.
Then we saw the foundation of the Union House. It was beneath the gardens of the
Union House. In the middle of the museum we saw a cylindrical structure with wavy textured
walls. These were the foundations for the Union House. Then we went to the guest house
