Christian Andersen's birthday, 2 April, International Children's Book Day
(ICBD) is celebrated to inspire a love of reading and to call attention to children's
nd
books. Hence, Gulf Indian High School celebrated ICBD on 2 April, 2019 to
encourage the students to create their own fairy tale.

Department of English decided to celebrate ICBD in a unique way by keeping the
theme entitled “My Own Fairy Tale” as a writing competition to promote the

importance of literacy among the children. All the students participated in this
competition by creating their own fairy tale. A lot of effort was given by the
students to make their piece of work creative and catchy.
