Theme-Year of Tolerance and Expo 2020
As the year 2019 marks the Year of Tolerance and also ready to set in a Global
venture of EXPO 2020, GIHS family also contributes in promoting the theme
and the development of UAE. To create a culture of creative thinking among
students and to reinforce the status of His Highness Sheikh Zayed as an
eternal source of national pride and a powerful symbol of the UAE around the
world, the SOCIALSCIENCE department observed the Arab Emirates Week

from 8 September to 12 September 2019. To portray the legacy of Sheikh
Zayed numerous activities were conducted across the school to achieve the
below mentioned objectives.
OBJECTIVES
• Explore UAE throughout time, from the past, to the present, leading
into an incredible vision for the future.
• Reflect on the importance of unity, collaboration and innovation, in
the accelerated progress and development of a young nation.
• Discover and learn about the applications of innovative technology in
the field of global sustainability.
• Work closely with UAE’s vision, to build knowledge and
excitement among young people ahead of the next World Expo, while
highlighting its significance for their generation.
