“A Reader lives a thousand lives before he dies …The man who never

               reads lives only one.”

               George R.R. Martin

Whether you are a novelist, a poet, a short-story writer, an essayist, a

biographer or an aspiring beginner, you want to improve your craft. The
               question is: How?

We in Gulf Indian High School encourage and motivate students

to read for pleasure. We conduct such activities to inculcate reading
practices among students across all phases through the Drop

Everything And Read better known as DEAR, which is a time regularly

set aside in the classroom schedule for both students and their
teachers to "drop everything and read." DEAR time conveniently

accommodates a variety of student interests and ability levels, since
each student selects for himself/herself the book(s) he/she wishes to

               read.

We have heard it said many times before, reading is good for you.
However, helping students to cultivate a love for reading is easier said
