Fifty students from area schools were selected to attend the 2016 STEM Academy camp, funded through a grant from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, at
Murray State College. Over 80 applications were received from students entering the 8th and 9th grades this fall. Through activity-based learning experiences, camp activi-
ties were designed to help participants obtain meaningful, hands-on experience in real life settings. The four-day residential camp included forensic science, field trips, rocket
and bridge building, bug hunting and identification, robotics and DNA exploration and many other fun activities.
