In contrast, on cruises targeted at families with children, such as those offered by the Disney Cruise Line, a high end shopping experience would potentially look out of place, with a wider range of toys, souvenirs, and candy, complimented by a smaller traditional Duty Free offering of Alcohol and Beauty, could be considered a more appropriate offering.
However, whilst providing an offer tailored to the cruise liners passenger profile may appear viable for on-board retailers, the industries fairly varied passenger type presents a more complicated situation for on-land port store operators as a single offering must cater for the needs of all travellers. Therefore, it is imperative that service offerings meet shopper expectations through a broad range of products and various price points.
