5.1.1 INCREASING AWARENESS
Our research shows how several potential methods exist for increasing service awareness among European cruise travellers, with preferred options including printed catalogues on-board or in rooms, adverts & posters and announcements on- board the ship.
Printed catalogues on-board or in rooms: Ensure each cabin is supplied with a Duty & Tax Free catalogue. Potential to supply dedicated catalogues on Duty & Tax Free exclusives, seasonal or location based items or promotional activity.
Advertisements or posters: Position adverts and posters in strategic locations on-board the cruise liner and in ports. Focus on leading product lines and aspects of the offer that differentiate it from other Travel Retail offerings.
Announcements on-board the ship: Use on-board announcements to draw traveller attention to product offerings, special offers and specialist shopping opportunities. On-land stores should also drive awareness through port announcements highlighting store location as passengers disembark.
Other leading methods of driving awareness among European cruise travellers unaware of a service on their most recent cruise include email / messages before the cruise departs and printed adverts on tickets.
